数学と英語？　なんだか難しそうだな、、、と感じていませんか？
なんと今回のアメログでは、英語で数学にチャレンジです！

英語での簡単な数式の読み方から始まり、「算数ビンゴ」や「グラフを英語で話してみる」などのグループワークなどを行うなど、楽しく英語で数学に触れてみませんか？

専門的で難しいイメージのある数学を私たちの生活に使われているものに考えてみたり、数学っておもしろい！こんな考え方があったんだ！と新たな発見があるかもしれません。

数学も英語も興味はあるけど、得意ではないよ、という方もぜひご参加ください。

Masaki Ikeda, Ph.D. in Mathematics
Originally from Odawara, Kanagawa, Masaki Ikeda was an exchange student at North Marion High School in Oregon and later spent 14 years in Oregon and Idaho from 2003-2017. He received his Ph.D. and Master’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Idaho and his Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with a minor in Physical Education from Western Oregon University. He first taught as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Idaho, and later he became a Visiting Assistant Professor at Western Oregon University’s mathematics department. At the time he was teaching in Idaho, he was recognized and awarded the “Graduate Student Excellence in Teaching Award” for four consecutive years.
Masaki worked as a digital marketing consultant in Tokyo for two years and supported Japanese entities with their digital advertisement. He will join a U.S. based software start-up, Zapata Computing, to introduce next-generation quantum computing in Japanese and Asian markets. Masaki is a big fan of Green Bay Packers (a National Football League team), B’z, and b-monster (fitness in darkness).
